Elephant Size News!!!!!

I have been selected and confirmed as an Artist for the Elephant Parade London 2010!  This event is to raise money and awareness of the Asian Elephant, and it’s current downfall.  There are as many as 350 Asian Elephants dying each week, mostly through human-elephant conflict. This event in London is designed to help educate people about how important this species is, promote and provide sanctuaries for the Elephant population to continue to exist and thrive.

Last year the Elephant Parade was in Amsterdam, and was a huge hit!  Elephant Family is the organization which is behind this movement to raise international help and educate the world on how this species is vital to all of us!  The Exhibit will be London’s largest art show, and will run from May 2010 through July 2010.  At the end of the exhibit each elephant will be auctioned at Sotheby’s Auction House in London!  This International Art Exhibit is my largest and most important art accomplishment!

Along with this great cause, and confirmation comes a big challenge…the funding to get there and complete the work of Art.  I will need to fly to London and complete my design in painted form on a life size baby elephant.  I need to secure a sponsor, patron, or raise the funds myself through donations, and art sales….$12,500.00 in less than 4 weeks!

Each fiberglass elephant is 5000 gbp (british pounds) which equates to $8,400.00 +/- (Paid in full by Dec 1st 2009)

Air Fare is $1500 to $2400

I’ll also need to pay for a studio spot, as well as food and transportation, while in London.

Progress:

I have already received a donation of a weeks stay in London to complete the project, and in just 4 days I have raised $1,000.00 through donations and a few art sales, and have several more checks on the way. I am hopeful more donations will come in  the next few days to help secure this amazing opportunity, and help towards this great cause.

Please donate today through my “Donate” button!

Gifts/ recognition of your donation:

Each donor/spnsor will have thier name painted into the design of the elephant. There will be a photo of the elephant on display, as well as a nice display for the coffee table or book case.
